Two Brothers, One Big Dream

Via 313 was founded by brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt, both Detroit natives who moved to Austin and found themselves craving the thick, square, crispy-edged pizza of their childhood. No one in Texas was making it quite right — so they decided to do it themselves.

What started as a single food trailer parked on South Lamar quickly grew into something much bigger. Word spread fast: Austin had finally discovered the real Detroit. Long lines formed every night, and the brothers knew they had something special on their hands.

2011 — The Beginning

The Food Trailer Era

Brandon and Zane Hunt launch a single food trailer on South Lamar. Within weeks, lines stretch down the block every night as Austin discovers Detroit-style pizza for the first time.

2013
2013 — Going Brick & Mortar

First Restaurant Opens

The demand was undeniable. Via 313 opens its first brick-and-mortar location on Airport Blvd, bringing the beloved square slices indoors with a full dining experience.

2016
2016 — Growing Roots

Second & Third Locations

Expanding to South Congress and Cedar Park, Via 313 becomes a true Austin staple. The team grows to over 50 passionate pizza makers and hospitality professionals.

2019 — Recognition

National Press & Awards

Via 313 is featured in Bon Appétit, Food & Wine, and Eater's best pizza lists. Named one of America's Top 25 Pizza Spots, putting Austin on the national pizza map.

2022 — Pandemic & Resilience

Pivoting & Persisting

Through the challenges of 2020–2021, Via 313 launches contactless delivery and curbside pickup. The community rallies around us, keeping the ovens burning throughout.
